Congratulations to Brent Morgan who is now shooting for the Akron Zips.
Brent joined Frazier Simplex Rifle Team in 2009 and is taking along a great track record as he enters his freshman year at Akron. He was the captain of the Avella High School Rifle Team for three years, placed fourth overall individually in the Pennsylvania in the PIAA for 2013, shot with Frazier Simplex in the Pittsburgh and Suburban League Rifle Team for three years, member of the Pennsylvania 4-H National Rifle Team for smallbore (2010) and air rifle (2011), placing 8th individually nationally in smallbore with 4-H National Rifle Team.
More recently, Brent was part of the first-place Frazier Simplex Junior Rifle team at the 2013 Palmyra Invitational, shot a personal best of 384 in the 2012 NRA National Junior International Air Sectionals, first place at the CMP 3P air rifle match in June 2012 with a score of 285, and placed third at the 2012 Mountaineer Open with a smallbore score of 561.

Junior Members attend Camp Perry this Summer and Win Big!
This past summer, six juniors marksmen, participated in the 2013 NRA National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. Three of them just came back from a National Air Rifle match in Alabama on Monday to start this competition on Wednesday.
In the 3-Position Metallic Sight Team Match, Nicolle Thiry and Nicholle Benedict (both of Frazier-Simplex) with Jack Anderson (Oil City) and Emilee Miller placed 3rd in the overall match with a combined score of 2332 and 104x's. In this same competition, Christopher Thomas and Kiboh Uchida (both of Frazier-Simplex) took a 1st place in the Intermediate Junior category with a 2296 and 89x's.
In the 3-Position Any Sight Team Match, Nicolle Thiry, Nicholle Benedict, Jack Anderson and Emilee Miller took 1st place in the Junior Team division with a combined score of 2318 and 82x's. In this same competition, Christopher Thomas and Kiboh Uchida took a 1st place in the Intermediate Junior category with a 2275 and 64x's.
During the National Matches, competitors also had the opportunity to shoot in some air pistol and rifle competitions. Thomas Welch (Frazier-Simplex) won $30.80 in the 30 Shot Air Rifle Center Shot Match (he was off the big money of $38 by the thickness of a hair). Ariana Grabowski (Frazier-Simplex) took 1st place overall women's division in the Air Rifle 60 Shot International Match (all standing) with a score of 584 and 36x's.
Congratulations to all the competitors on an outstanding summer of shooting. Next year, the small-bore competitions are scheduled to be in Indiana instead of Camp Perry.

Nicholle Thiry now shooting for Ole Miss
With sad yet joyful hearts, we are thankful and proud of Nicolle Thiry who is now off to Ole Miss to shoot this fall. We are very thankful for Nicolle's vital role in helping the Frazier Simplex Precision Jr. Rifle Team in winning the Civilian Marksmanship Program's Regional and National 3P Air Rifle Championships this year.
For the past two and half years, Nicolle has been shooting at the Frazier Simplex Rifle Club where she has won the high junior for the past two years in a row as well as the R.K. Moore (100 shot standing) award for the past two years. She is very thankful to everyone at Frazier for the many opportunities to be involved with such a high caliber group of athletes and will be keeping a close watch on all of her ole teammates from last year.
Nicolle is now studying business at Ole Miss and shooting for their NCAA Shooting Team. Keep up the great shooting and we are looking forward to seeing you at future competitions. PA Shooters pull in 2nd, 4th & 8th place at the American Legion National Air Rifle Match
Three of Pennsylvania's best junior precision air rifle shooters competed in the 2013 American Legion National finals at the Olympic Training Center on August 8, 9 & 10, 2013. The competition pulled the best air rifle shooters from all 50 states. In fact, they are in the 1 percent of the top junior precision air rifle shooters to qualify this year through the American Legion postal matches.

The Frazier-Simplex 4-H Rifle Team won first place on August 7, 2013 at the Penn State Achievement Days
Mackenzie Robinson, Chris Thomas, Tom Welch, and Morgan Duerr, won individual senior division honors with a 294, qualified for the Pennsylvania State Team and will participate in the Nebraska 4-H Nationals in 2014.
Taylor Tennant qualified for the PA State Air Rifle Team. The air rifle team placed second in the senior division.

Frazier Simplex well represented at the 2013 National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational on June 23-28
Fifteen 4-H members represented Pennsylvania at the 2013 4-H National Shooting Sports Invitational during the week of June 23-28 in Grand Island Nebraska. The Pennsylvania Teams participating in the event were .22 Rifle, Air-Rifle, Shotgun and Compound Archery.
The .22 Smallbore Team composed of Nicolle Thiry and Taylor Tennant from Frazier-Simplex 4-H, Washington County, and Sarah Sroka and Hannah Rohrer from Somerset County 4-H placed second and was awarded the Silver Medal in the NRA 3-Position Match with a score of 1549.
A team from Louisiana won first place with a score of 1552. All four members of Team Pennsylvania placed in the top 10 on an individual level. Nicolle Thiry placed 3rd, Sarah Sroka placed 7th, Taylor Tennant placed 8th and Hannah Rohrer placed 9th.
The Pennsylvania Air-Rifle Team composed of Morgan Duerr, Sylvia Dreistadt and Kaylee Hobgood from Frazier-Simplex, Washington County, placed 4th in the 40 Shot Standing Match. Morgan Duerr placed 4th in the individual standings.
In Compound Archery, Brendon Smith of Cambria County placed 8th in the individual archery standings.
The National Competition will be held in Grand Island, Nebraska for the next three years. 15 members from the Frazier-Simplex 4-H Rifle Club will participate in the Penn State 4-H Achievement Days on August 7, 2013, in an attempt to qualify for a place on a Pennsylvania Team in the 2014 National Invitational.

1st Place in the CMP 3PAR Championship - July 13, 2013
On the final day of the 3 day competition, the all girl team from Frazier Simplex pulled off a huge victory and won the prize they were seeking - 2013 CMP 3PAR National Champions! Shooting against 37 teams, the competition was tight. The 4 person aggregate score of 2339 with 162 X's, was the highest aggregate team score of the 3 day competition.
